Authentic Communication and Connection

Ross Phillips M.A., LMFT
Curiosity, learning, and communication are themes in my life. I returned to my native California after spending most of my adult life overseas. My travels include North America, Latin America, Asia, and North Africa. Living, working, and traveling as an entrepreneur and executive in Europe and the Caribbean for many years has afforded me an open mind, compassion, tolerance, and respect for cultural differences and beliefs.
Anxiety, depression, co-dependence, and career change are areas where I can be of help. My specialty is working with individuals, couples, and families with problems exacerbated by substance dependence and abuse. I have several years experience as an Addictions Treatment Counselor and received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles.

Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental stance are important qualities for therapy. Studying and working as an entrepreneur overseas for 30 years has given me good insight into the challenges of expat life. I use talk therapy, Brainspotting and other modalities for trauma, anxiety, and stress. I have an integrated approach using mindfulness and spirituality when appropriate to help with anxiety, depression, and existential issues. I have in-depth experience working with individuals and families suffering from Drug and Alcohol Abuse. Sessions are conducted via teletherapy with individuals, couples, and families.
